WELCOME TO OCEAN REEF

Ocean Reef is difficult to describe until you have experienced it. Part private members’ club, part resort and part small town, it is a 2,500-acre community tucked away at the northernmost end of the Florida Keys.

Behind the gates is far more than you might expect: two golf courses, a marina, beach and pools, tennis and pickleball, a spa and fitness center, restaurants and shops, a grocery store and even a movie theater, medical center, post office and private airport. People live here year-round, and it is entirely possible to spend days—or much longer—without ever needing to leave.

And yet, for all that is here, Ocean Reef feels remarkably relaxed. Most places are no more than a ten-minute golf-card ride away, there is not a traffic light in sight, and life moves at a decidedly Keys pace.

WHY WE CHOSE THE REEF

Alex and I first came to Ocean Reef in 2019. What began as a place to escape unexpectedly became our full-time home in 2020, and we stayed for almost four years. Our children went to school here (by golf cart!), we made wonderful friends, and somewhere along the way the Reef became our family’s happy place.

We live in Miami now, but our Ocean Reef home is still an important part of our lives. We return for weekends whenever we can and celebrate all the holidays there. We still love the things that made us fall for Ocean Reef in the first place: running into friends everywhere we go, the beauty of the ocean and the landscape, the ease of getting around by golf cart, and a community that is warm, social and wonderfully unpretentious.

That is why we chose Ocean Reef for this weekend. We wanted to bring together people we love in a place that has brought our family so much joy—and give you a chance to experience a little of what we love about life here.

MAKE THE WEEKEND YOUR OWN

There is no right way to spend a day at Ocean Reef—and very little needs to be planned in advance. Fill your day with golf, tennis, boating or fishing. Take the kids to the beach. Find a lounger by the water and open
a book. Meet friends for lunch, wander into an activity that sounds fun, or simply see where the day takes you.

More than anything, we hope you will use the time between our events as a mini-vacation of your own.
Enjoy the Reef with your family, spend time with old friends, make some new ones, and do as much—or as little—as you like. We will see you along the way.
